 Attending Court 

To plan for your pending visit/appearance, please note the following:

Visitors are welcome to attend Lambton's Provincial Offences Court, with the exception of pre-trial conferences / matters. 

  • Silence is required; therefore all cell phones and pagers must be turned off/on silent mode.
  • Use of cameras, recording devices or photo phones is not permitted.
  • You may not eat, drink, chew gum or read newspapers in the courtroom.
  • Please remove sunglasses and all hats other than religious head coverings.  Appropriate attire is required.
  • When the Justice of the Peace enters or leaves the courtroom, please stand.
  • Do not make noise, enter or leave the courtroom when the Justice of the Peace is speaking. 
  • Dress neatly and refrain from wearing shorts, or clothing with inappropriate/ questionable phrases or images. 
  • Please inform the Prosecutor of your attendance upon arrival. 
  • Underground parking is available at the Bayside Centre.  The first three hours are free, with hourly rates applied after the third hour.  The entrance is located on Vidal Street.  More information can be found at the Bayside Centre's website.  
  • If you require an assistive device or have a request relating to accessibility please contact the Municipal Courthouse Accessibility Coordinator (Cindy Vermeiren / 519-344-8880 ext. 2236 / (Cindy.vermeiren@county-lambton.on.ca) in advance of your appearance, or advise a Court Clerk upon your arrival.  An elevator is available in the facility.  
  • Please arrive on time.  There are a number of cases to be heard each day and be prepared to stay the entire day.
