RESOLUTION MEETINGS WITH THE MUNICIPAL PROSECUTOR
The County of Lambton provides a Resolution Meeting for defendants who wish to speak with the Municipal Prosecutor about their Part I or II charge before going to trial. A Resolution Meeting should be used where the person charged is seeking to resolve the matter without proceeding to trial. A Resolution still requires the defendant to attend the court date as outlined in his/her Notice of Trial.
You must have a trial scheduled before contacting the Municipal Prosecutor. If you have received notice of your trial date and would like to discuss a possible resolution, please contact the Municipal Prosecutor at 519-332-2513, ext. 2231 or attend in person at the Court Services Department in the Bayside Centre, 150 N. Christina Street, 2nd floor, Sarnia, ON, on Tuesdays between 9:00 am and 3:30 pm. (As of July 2, 2018, Resolutions will no longer be held on Wednesdays)
The Municipal Prosecutor will not discuss a resolution with you on the day of your trial so please make sure you attend a resolution meeting two to four weeks before your trial date.
Note: To order a copy of disclosure for your Part I or II matter with the Municipal Prosecutor, please complete and submit the Disclosure Information Form.
