Sarnia, ON – Maxwell Park Place, the County of Lambton's brand new 57-unit affordable housing apartment building located at 993 Maxwell Street in Sarnia, will welcome its first tenants beginning Saturday, November 19.
Approximately 62 tenants will be living in the new building and will enjoy the many features the smoke-free property allows. Designed specifically for seniors and persons with disabilities, the building offers special resting areas in the hallways for walking breaks, a large storage room for charging electric scooters, smooth floors and lounges on each floor in addition to a community room, for socializing and special events. Additionally, office and clinical space is available on the first floor which will allow special health clinics to be held for residents.
"The tenants are most definitely going to enjoy their new homes at Maxwell Park Place," said Lambton County Warden Steve Arnold. "This new building will allow the County of Lambton to better meet the needs of our residents, particularly those who require affordable housing."
Plans are currently underway to hold a special ribbon cutting ceremony and public open house later this year or in the New Year. "We look forward to inviting the public to tour our new building in the near future," said Connie VanSickle, Acting Manager, Housing Services.
