Lambton Renovates is designed to target renovation and rehabilitation projects to improve the living conditions of households in need through financial assistance to repair deficiencies in affordable homeownership. Repairs may include insulation, roofs, windows, electrical systems, plumbing and energy efficiency and other related home upgrades. It also encompasses the creation of secondary suites, and accessibility modifications.
Funding for accessibility repairs made to a home is available up to a maximum of $3,500 and is in the form of a grant, not a loan, and does not require repayment.
All other funding, except for the accessibility repairs described above, is provided in the form of a 10 year forgivable loan to homeowner occupant based on the cost of approved work items. The amount of funding per homeowner application may be up to a maximum of $15,000. The amount of program funds will be registered on title of the property as a second mortgage. The mortgage shall in no case be lower than second position on the title of the property.

Applications can be downloaded by clicking on the Lambton Renovates Application Form below. Completed applications along with required documentation can be dropped off at the County of Lambton Housing Services Department. The office is located on the 2nd Floor of the Bayside Centre in Sarnia (150 N. Christina Street) and is open Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
