The current Capital Construction budget consists of approximately $10 million to be spent towards rehabilitating and reconstructing County roads and approximately $2 million towards bridge and culvert repairs and replacements. Projects are selected and implemented based on the current needs and the availability of funding.
Traffic will be maintained in most of these areas throughout the construction period, however, delays should be anticipated. Some of these projects will require road closures and detours to facilitate construction. Please refer to the ROAD CLOSURES page for the most recent updates.
Lists and maps of scheduled road and bridge projects for the approved 2019 construction season can be found in the 2019-2023 Roads Construction Program. Future planned projects are also listed in this document.
BEAR CREEK BRIDGE PROJECT - WARWICK VILLAGE
Construction Update: The project will commence in early July 2019 with a full closure of County Road 22 (Egremont Road) on Monday, July 8, 2019. Traffic will be detoured to Kings Highway 402 via Forest Road and Nauvoo Road. Given the scope of work, the project is expected to be completed and the road re-opened to traffic by the end of November 2019.
Please note that all entrances will be accessible during construction and all businesses remain open.
See below timelines regarding the progress of this project.
The County of Lambton has initiated a Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) process to consider options associated with the Bear Creek Bridge which is located on County Road 22 (Egremont Road) at the east limits of the Village of Warwick. Recent engineering inspections of the structure have identified significant deterioration with many of the bridge components. All reasonable alternatives will be considered in conjunction with the Class EA process including:
· Repair of the existing bridge
· Replacement of the existing bridge in the same location
· Rehabilitation of the existing bridge
· Do nothing
