If you wish to speak on matters of fact, petitions, policy or to make a request of Council, you must notify the Clerk in writing no later than 12:00 noon on the sixth working day immediately before the Council meeting which you plan to attend. This notice must outline the full nature of the presentation.
If you wish to make a presentation to County Council you must:
- In writing, identify who you are, as well as which group or organization, if any, you claim to represent or be a member of.
- Note that presentations are limited to no more than ten minutes. Time can be lengthened by the Warden, or by motion of Council where special circumstances warrant.
- Note that only one spokesperson will be permitted to speak, unless permission to speak by other members of the group or organization is otherwise granted by the Warden or by motion of Council.
- Note than any person wishing to present correspondence directly to County Council must do so through the Legal Services / Clerk's Department no later than 12:00 noon on the sixth working day immediately before the Council meeting.
*Please note that no persons are permitted to speak regarding a tender or request for proposal which is either proposed, pending or actually before Council or a Committee of Council for consideration. Nor is a person permitted to speak concerning labour relations, insurance claims, contract negotiations, or Ontario Works or Social Housing appeals of an individual nature.
