The Court Services Department is responsible for processing fine payments, enforcement of unpaid fines, setting trials, recording court proceedings, generating transcripts and other administrative duties resulting from charges laid by the various enforcement agencies operating within Lambton County.
NEW Municipal Prosecutor to Prosecute Part 3 matters.
February 2023
As of March 2, 2023, the Municipal Prosecutor will be prosecuting most Part 3 matters under the Provincial Offences Act. Brian Fortune remains prosecuting MTO matters regarding commercial motor vehicles. Please see the Prosecution Services page for more details about this change and how to contact the appropriate Prosecutor.
NEW Option 2: Early Resolution Meetings.
January 2023
As of January 2023, for Part 1 tickets, Option 2 to Plead Guilty with an Explanation has been replaced with the Early Resolution option. You now have the choice to schedule a meeting with the municipal prosecutor to discuss your charge. Please see Options for Part 1 Tickets page for more information on this option.
NEW Location Update

The Court Services Department will be relocating back to their permanent location at Lambton Shared Service Center, effective January 3, 2023.
Effective January 2023, the mailing address for the Court Services Department will be changing to:

All matters scheduled in the County of Lambton Provincial Offences Court can be attended in-person at Lambton Shared Services Center, or remotely by Zoom audio/video conferencing. Please see the Court Calendar for upcoming court dates and how to appear via Zoom.
Service counter office hours are Monday to Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

E-Transfer Payments

You can now pay most fines by e-transfer, please refer to the payments page for instructions.
Remote Court Proceedings
As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, most court proceedings are being held by video conference (zoom video link) or by audio conference 855-392-2520. Virtual court appearance instructions and dial in information can be found on the court calendar.
If you have further questions or need to speak to staff about your virtual court appearance, you can email them at the POA Courthouse.
Recording of court matters via video or audio is strictly prohibited without preauthorization, as per the Courts of Justice Act.

Covid-19 Information
Court Services Department public service counter is now open for in-person administration services and in-person fine payments. Effective January 3, 2023, Court Services Department will be located at 162 Lochiel Street, Suite 200, Sarnia ON N7T 7W5. Hours of operation are from Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Updates on public access, in-person court appearances, attending virtual court proceedings and online payments can be found at lambtononline.ca/courtservices. Additional updates will be provided on this page as they become available.
Limitation Period Enacted
On February 26th 2021 the limitation period under section 85 of the Provincial Offences Act was reenacted. This means that if you have an outstanding Provincial Offence Fine, enforcement actions will proceed.
