(Left to Right) - Kim Godin (Manager, County of Lambton Children’s Services Department), Claire Giles (Executive Director, North Lambton Child Care), Randi McDonald (Principal, East Lambton Elementary School), Mayor Todd Case (Township of Warwick), Gary Girardi (Director of Education, Lambton Kent District School Board)

Watford, ON – Before and after school care will be continuing at East Lambton Elementary School this September. North Lambton Childcare Centre will be operating the program starting this fall.

Families currently enrolled in before and after school care at the school will automatically have a place held for them in September, with no interruption to care, and those on the waiting list will remain on the waiting list without the need to reapply.

In addition to operating the before and after school program, North Lambton Childcare Centre will be adding 15 new full-day spaces at East Lambton Elementary School for children ages 18 months to 4 years.

More information will be shared with families in the current before and after school program in the coming weeks with information on the registration process to continue their current enrollment.

Families interested in the new full-day spaces can apply online through OneList Lambton.

Quotes

“The County of Lambton Children’s Services department greatly appreciates the support and partnership with the Lambton Kent District School Board and North Lambton Child Care to ensure Before and After School Care remained available at East Lambton Elementary School in Watford this fall. North Lambton Child Care’s addition of 15 new full-day childcare spaces within the school for children aged 18 months to 4 years is also wonderful news to celebrate. Both developments reflect our shared commitment to expanding accessible, high-quality childcare options that support families and promote the healthy development of children in our community.”

Kim Godin, Manager, Children’s Services, County of Lambton

“As a school board, we celebrate opportunities like this that allow us to support not only our current LKDSB families but also future and potential LKDSB families within the communities we serve. Expanding access to child care and wraparound services reflects our commitment to meeting the evolving needs of our community and we’re proud to play a role in creating supportive, inclusive spaces for children to grow and thrive.”

Gary Girardi, Director, Lambton Kent District School Board

“East Lambton Elementary School is very excited to welcome North Lambton Child Care to our building as our new Before and After School care provider. This program is important for many of our families, and we are happy to see it continue. The addition of full-day child care is fantastic, and we look forward to seeing the little friends in our school. We’re proud that the LKDSB is able to offer this valuable service to support the needs of our community.”

Randi McDonald, Principal, East Lambton Elementary School

“North Lambton Childcare Centre is thrilled to be working with the County of Lambton, the Lambton Kent District School Board, and the Township of Warwick, to grow our child care services in the Watford community. We look forward to welcoming new children, their families, and new educators to the NLCC family.”

Claire Giles, Executive Director, North Lambton Child Care

“On behalf of the Township of Warwick, I want to sincerely thank Kim Godin and Valerie Colasanti with the County for their dedication and hard work in making this important initiative a reality. We’re proud to have supported this project in any way we could, and it’s exciting to see meaningful steps being taken to support families in our community. We look forward to future announcements that continue to build on this fantastic news.”
