County Road Network
The County Road Network includes almost 650 kilometres of roads and over 190 bridges and major culverts. The Public Works Department ensures the County Road Network is constructed and maintained in line with industry standards so you can travel safely and efficiently throughout Lambton County.
Speed limit changes
Speed limits on County Roads are established based on the guidelines and best practices set out by Transportation Association of Canada and Ministry of Transportation and are assessed through the County’s Speed Limit Review Policy.
Following a speed limit review study conducted in late 2022, changes are being made to the speed limits on the following sections of County Roads in early April 2023:
- County Road 1 (Lambton Line/Broadway Street, St. Clair)
Addition of 955 metre 50km/h zone, starting at St. Clair Parkway through Port Lambton. - County Road 2 (Bentpath Line, Dawn-Euphemia)
370 metre extension to the east limit of the existing 70km/h zone along the Enbridge Gas - Dawn Facility. - County Road 8 (Forest Road, Plympton-Wyoming/Warwick)
Modifying the speed limit from 90km/h to 80km/h from County Road 22 (London Line) north to the County/King's Highway 21 jurisdiction limits. - County Road 22 (London Line, Plympton-Wyoming)
295 metre extensions to the east and west limits of the 70km/h zone through Reece's Corners (1500m distance overall). - County Road 28 (Holt Line, St. Clair)
Modifying the existing speed limit zone from 90km/h to 80km/h. - County Road 30 (Oil Heritage Road, Plympton-Wyoming)
Modifying the existing speed limit zone from 90km/h to 80km/h. - County Road 36 (Bickford Line, St. Clair)
Modifying the existing speed limit zone from 90km/h to 80km/h.

Construction Projects
Construction projects include road reconstruction, paving, and bridge replacements. Maintenance activities include grading shoulders, preventative maintenance treatments, tree trimming, and snow removal. Visit the Road Closures page for a listing of upcoming and current road closures.

Herbicide Use - Public Notice
The County of Lambton intends to control weeds under the Public Works Pesticide Use exception within its jurisdiction along its rural County Roadsides noted in the Public Notice: Herbicide Use and Weed Spray Areas map.
Application will commence on May 29, 2023 (weather permitting) and end June 30, 2023.
