Construction Projects

Traffic will be maintained in most areas during construction, however, delays should be expected. Some projects will require road closures and detours. Visit the Road Closures page for a list of current and upcoming planned closures and detours.

Construction Projects

Current

CR79 (Nauvoo Road) - South of Watford to LaSalle Line

Pavement recycling, resurfacing with drainage improvements.
Traffic will be reduced to a single lane with a pace vehicle guiding traffic.
The road with be re-opened to two lanes at the end of each work day and kept open over weekends and holidays.
Lane widths will be reduced for the duration of the work and the speed limit will be reduced to 60 km/hr.

The project is expected to take up to 6 weeks, weather permitting.

CR4 (Petrolia Line) - West of CR8 (Forest Road) to Little Ireland Road

Start Date: Friday, July 4, 2025 (weather permitting)

Pavement recycling, resurfacing with drainage improvements.
Includes some work on CR8 (Forest Road) north to Duram Creek Bridge.
Traffic will be reduced to a single lane with a pace vehicle guiding traffic.
The road with be re-opened to two lanes at the end of each work day and kept open over weekends and holidays.
Lane widths will be reduced for the duration of the work and the speed limit will be reduced to 60 km/hr.

The project is expected to take up to 6 weeks, weather permitting.

CR19 (Michigan Avenue) – Colborne Street to CR29 (Indian Road)

In partnership with the City of Sarnia.

CR26 (Mandaumin Road) - CR14 (Churchill Line) to CR22 (London Line)

Start Date: Thursday, July 10, 2025 (weather permitting)

Start Date: Spring/Summer 2025

In partnership with the Town of Plympton-Wyoming.
Lane improvements and intersection signals.

Temporary traffic signals and alternating lanes will be used.

Morrough Creek Bridge #1 at Shiloh Line

Start Date: Summer 2025

In partnership with Middlesex County and St. Clair Region Conservation Authority.

CR7 (Lakeshore Road) – Douglas Line to Harris Point Drive

Pavement milling and resurfacing.
Lane closures expected.

CR25 (Confederation Street) – Sutton Street to Vanier Road

Start Date: Summer/Fall 2025

Pavement milling and resurfacing.
Most work will happen during overnight hours. A Noise By-Law exemption was approved by the City of Sarnia for 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. milling and paving work.

CR29 (Indian Road) – Campbell Street to Kathleen Avenue
