Depuis le 1er novembre 2024, la Ville de Sarnia est désignée en vertu de la Loi sur les services en français. Cela signifie que les programmes fournis au nom de la province de l'Ontario sont disponibles en anglais et en français.

Plusieurs domaines des programmes et services du comté de Lambton relèvent de cette désignation. Maintenant, les programmes et services suivants sont disponibles en anglais et en français.

Nous nous efforçons d'augmenter le nombre de nos employés bilingues. Pendant cette période, des services d'interprétation seront utilisés pour fournir ces programmes et services.

Services à l'enfance

Tous les programmes et services offerts par le département des services à l'enfance sont disponibles en anglais et en français, par le biais des services de traduction et d'interprétation. Qui comprend :

  • Trouver un prestataire de services de garde d'enfants agréé
  • Programmes, subventions et aides, y compris :
    • Système pancanadien d'apprentissage et de garde des jeunes enfants
    • Programme D’activités Récréatives et Sportives Pour Jeunes (PARSJ)

Services aux tribunaux

Tous les programmes et services offerts par le département des services aux tribunaux sont disponibles en anglais et en français, par le biais des services de traduction et d'interprétation.

Prévention de l’itinérance

Certains programmes et services offerts par le départment de prévention de l'itinérance sont disponibles en français et en anglais par le biais des services de traduction et d'interprétation.

Pour contacter le département de prévention de l’itinérance, veuillez appeler 519-344-2062 et appuyer sur l’option 3.

Si vous êtes sans-abri ou connaissez quelqu'un qui l'est, veuillez contacter le Inn of the Good Shepherd au 519-344-1679.

Services du logement

Certains programmes et services offerts par le département des services du logement sont disponibles en français et en anglais par le biais des services de traduction et d'interprétation. Qui comprend :

  • Programme d'aide à la mise de fonds pour l'accession à la propriété (formulaire de demande)
  • Programme d'incitation pour les logements supplémentaires (formulaire de demande)
  • Programme des rénovations de Lambton (formulaire de demande)

Lambton Public Health - Programme « Bébés en santé, enfants en santé »

Le programme « Bébés en santé, enfants en santé » offert par Lambton Public Health est disponible en français et en anglais par le biais des services de traduction et d'interprétation.

Pour accéder au programme « Bébés en santé » en français, veuillez visiter www.lambtonpublichealth.ca ou communiquer avec la Ligne Santé Familiale au 519-383-3817. Une infirmière de la santé publique est disponible du lundi au vendredi, de 8 h 30 à 16 h 30.

Centre d'emploi de Lambton

Les programmes et services offerts par Lambton Works Centre sont offerts en français et en anglais par le biais des services de traduction et d'interprétation.  

Pour contacter le Centre d'emploi de Lambton, veuillez appeler 519-344-2062 et appuyer sur l’option 1, ou passez au centre de ressources du Centre d'emploi Lambton (162, rue Lochiel, Sarnia) du lundi au vendredi, de 8 h 30 à 16 h 30.

L'Ontario au travail

Tous les programmes et services offerts par l'Ontario au travail sont offert en anglais et en français, par le biais des services de traduction et d'interprétation. Qui comprend:

  • Présenter une demande pour le programme Ontario au travail (ou par téléphone au 1-888-999-1142, du lundi au vendredi, de 8 h 30 à 17 h 30)
  • Appels à l'aide sociale (disponible auprès du Tribunal de l’aide sociale, ou en communiquant avec le bureau d'Ontario au travail.)

Service in French

As of November 1, 2024, the City of Sarnia is designated under the French Language Services Act. This means that programs delivered on behalf of the Province of Ontario will be provided in both English and French.

Several areas within the County of Lambton’s programs and services fall under this designation. At this time, the following programs and services are available in English and French.

We are working to build bilingual staff capacity. While this is underway, interpretation services will be used to provide these programs and services. 

Children's Services 

All programs and services offered by our Children’s Services department are offered in French and English through translation and interpretation services. This includes:

  • Finding a licensed child care provider
  • Programs, subsidies and supports including: 
    • Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care System / Système pancanadien d'apprentissage et de garde des jeunes enfants
    • Youth Recreation and Sport Program (YRASO) / Programme D’activités Récréatives et Sportives Pour Jeunes (PARSJ)
    • Child Care Subsidy Program
  • Lambton’s EarlyON Child and Family Centres / Centres pour l'enfant et la famille ON y va de Lambton

Court Services

All programs and services offered by our Court Services department are offered in French and English through translation and interpretation services. 

To contact the Court Services department, please call 519-344-8880.

Homelessness Prevention

Select programs and services offered by our Homelessness Prevention department are offered in French and English through translation and interpretation services.

To contact the Homelessness Prevention department, please call 519-344-2062 and press option 3.

If you are homeless or know someone experiencing homelessness, please contact the Inn of the Good Shepherd at 519-344-1679.

Housing Services 

Select programs and services offered by our Housing Services department are offered in French and English through translation and interpretation services. This includes:

  • Additional Dwelling Unit Incentive Program
  • Lambton Renovates Program
  • Homeownership Down Payment Assistance Program

Lambton Public Health - Healthy Babies Healthy Children Program

The Healthy Babies Healthy Children program offered by Lambton Public Health is available in French and English through the use of translation and interpretation services.

To access the Healthy Babies program in French, please visit the Lambton Public Health website or contact the Lambton Public Health Family Health Line at 519-383-3817. A public health nurse is available Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Lambton Works Centre

Programs and services offered by Lambton Works Centre are offered in French and English through the use of translation and interpretation, including supports and services for job seekers and employers.

To contact Lambton Works Centre, please call 519-344-2062 and press option 1, or drop in to the Lambton Works Centre resource centre (162 Lochiel Street, Sarnia) from Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Ontario Works

All programs and services offered by Ontario Works are offered in French and English through the use of translation and interpretation services. This includes:

  • Applying for Ontario Works (or by telephone at 1-888-999-1142, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.)
  • Social assistance appeals (available from the Social Benefits Tribunal, or by contacting the Ontario Works office.)
