
Wyoming, ON – At its regular meeting on Wednesday, July 2, Lambton County Council:
- Heard presentations from:
- Ernest Morenz, Ontario Senior Games Association, regarding the Ontario Senior Games Association’s operations in Lambton County.
- Brian Eves, President of Lambton Federation of Agriculture, and Crispin Colvin, Director with Ontario Federation of Agriculture, regarding key issues affecting primary agriculture production in Lambton County.
- Dr. Karalyn Dueck, Medical Officer of Health, and Kevin Churchill, General Manager, Public Health Services, regarding the details of Lambton Public Health’s 2025-2029 Strategic Plan.
- Ian Hanney, Manager, Homelessness Prevention and Social Planning, regarding the Lambton County Housing and Homelessness Progress Report 2024.
- Received the 2024 Lambton Drug and Alcohol Strategy Implementation Progress Report, highlighting activities made possible in 2024 by the collective efforts of partners.
- Adopted the 2025-2029 Lambton Public Health Strategic Plan.
- Received the 2025 Housing and Homelessness Plan Progress Report.
- Authorized staff to complete renovations to County Council chambers for accessibility and maintenance improvements during the 2025 summer meeting break.
- Authorized staff to continue discussions with St. Clair Township regarding increased operating hours and service expansions at the Sombra Library and potential closure of the Port Lambton Library.
- Approved the minutes of the Audit Committee meeting from June 18, 2025.
Council will next meet at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 3, 2025. The meeting will begin with a Closed Session, if necessary, followed immediately by the Open Session.
