
Wyoming, ON – At its regular meeting on Wednesday, May 7, Lambton County Council:
- Heard presentations from:
- Matthew Slotwinski, Chief Executive Officer, Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership (SLEP), regarding US Tariff Local Impacts.
- Mark Perrin, Executive Director, Tourism Sarnia-Lambton (TSL), regarding Current Tourism Attraction Marketing Efforts.
- Received an update on the purchase of the St. Bartholomew’s Church property on Cathcart Blvd. within the City of Sarnia, which is intended to be used as a future affordable and/or supportive housing development site.
- Endorsed affordable and supportive housing and shelter as Lambton County Council’s number one priority.
- Approved the addition of 24 more preschool spaces for the child care facility in development on the Lambton Meadowview Villa property, for a total of 73 new licensed child care spaces.
- Authorized the reallocation of provincial funding from the Children’s Services Department to the Libraries Department, for continued delivery of library services to EarlyON Child and Family Centres located throughout Lambton County
- Changed the Tax Class Ratio for the Landfill Property Class to be set at the maximum value as permitted in Subsection 10.2(3) as described in O.Reg. 385/98, as amended, being 26.442631 for the 2025 taxation year.
Council will next meet at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 4, 2025. The meeting will begin with a Closed Session, if necessary, followed immediately by the Open Session.
