
Wyoming, ON – At its regular meeting on Wednesday, September 3, Lambton County Council:
- Heard a presentation from Tom Strifler, Former Executive Director, Western Sarnia-Lambton Research Park and Dr. Dave Muir, Associate Vice-President, Innovation and Strategic Partnerships, Western Research of Western University regarding an update on County of Lambton Community Development Corporation.
- Received Homelessness Prevention and Affordable Housing update reports.
- Approved hiring one full-time permanent staff position for the operation of the new affordable housing build at 471 Kathleen Avenue, Sarnia, and agreed to designate the building and grounds at 471 Kathleen Avenue, Sarnia, as smoke free at time of occupancy.
- Approved the Investment Plan for Year 7, Year 8 and Year 9 of the Canada-Ontario Community Housing Initiative and the Ontario Priorities Housing Initiative for submission to the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing.
- Approved the Homelessness Prevention Program Investment Plan for the 2025-26 fiscal year for submission to the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing.
- Appointed Melissa Fitzpatrick, General Manager, Social Services Division, as the Ontario Works Administrator for Lambton County, and submitted the appointment details to the Ministry of Community and Social Services for its confirmation and approval.
Council will next meet at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 1, 2025. The meeting will begin with a Closed Session, if necessary, followed immediately by the Open Session.
