Wyoming, ON - The County of Lambton Emergency Control Group (CECG) met Wednesday, October 27 to discuss updates to the current COVID-19 situation.

At this meeting, the Emergency Control Group:

  • Heard that 190,370 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Lambton County, as of Wednesday, October 27. That represents 83.3% of individuals aged 12+ that have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine, and 79.8% of individuals aged 12+ that have received two doses.
  • Would like to remind residents that all eligible individuals can continue to register for a vaccine appointment or attend a drop-in clinic. Full details are listed at getthevaccine.ca.
  • Discussed the additional proof of vaccination requirements that have been implemented for all facilities used for sports and recreational fitness activities in the County of Lambton. Proof of vaccination will be required for anyone over the age of 12 who enters an indoor area of this type of facility to participate in, coach, officiate or watch an organized sporting event.
  • Heard that the GO-VAXX Bus will be making several stops in Lambton County between October 29 and November 1, offering walk-in COVID-19 vaccination appointments. See the GO-VAXX Bus news release for more information and the full schedule.
  • Discussed the status of the County’s declared State of Emergency. The CECG confirmed the County's emergency declaration should remain in place and that it will continued to be reviewed on a regular basis
  • Would like to remind residents that local statistics are available on the Lambton Public Health website, including a detailed community snapshot.

For the most up to date information regarding COVID-19 including current statistics, please visit the Lambton Public Health website, GetTheVaccine.ca and the Province of Ontario website. Facility closures and local supports and resources are listed on the Lambton County website.
