Sarnia, ON – The Judith & Norman Alix Art Gallery (JNAAG) is pleased to announce the opening of four new exhibitions this spring: Siobhán Humston’s In the Garden of Exquisite Unknown; Jon Sasaki’s Homage; Tom Thomson and the Group of Seven; and Re View Exhibition 6.

"We are delighted to present these captivating exhibitions, each offering a unique perspective on the natural world and the creative process," says Sonya Blazek, Curator/Supervisor at Judith & Norman Alix Art Gallery. "From Siobhán Humston's profound reflections on our relationship with nature to Jon Sasaki's exploration of microbial landscapes, these exhibitions invite viewers to engage with art in new and exciting ways. We look forward to welcoming visitors to JNAAG and fostering a deeper appreciation for the beauty and complexity of the world around us."

Siobhán Humston: In the Garden of Exquisite Unknown

Artist Siobhán Humston delves deep into the mysteries of life and nature with her captivating exhibition, In the Garden of Exquisite Unknown. Inspired by the landscapes of Lake Huron, Plympton-Wyoming, and Lambton County, Humston's multidimensional artworks offer a sensory-rich experience, exploring our profound connection to the natural world. From sculptural installations to mixed media drawings, Humston's diverse body of work celebrates the beauty and complexity of our environment.

Jon Sasaki: Homage

Visitors will have the unique opportunity to witness the creative process up-close, as the original artist palettes are showcased alongside artworks. The exhibition is organized and circulated by the McMichael Canadian Art Collection.

Tom Thomson and the Group of Seven
April 19 – September 1, 2024

Inspired by the travelling exhibition Homage, JNAAG proudly presents an exclusive exhibition featuring oil paintings by Tom Thomson and The Group of Seven selected in response to the original paint palettes and paint boxes travelling with the Homage exhibition.
