Lambton Meadowview Villa Residents Test Positive for COVID-19

Petrolia, ON - The administration team of Lambton Meadowview Villa learned today that two residents have tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. Several more residents have presented with respiratory symptoms and are awaiting test results.
People living in the long-term care home and their families were notified of the positive cases, and informed that as a result, Lambton Public Health has declared a COVID-19 outbreak at the Home.

Point Edward, ON – Starting April 7, 2022, Ontario will expand eligibility for a fourth dose (second booster) of COVID-19 vaccine to additional populations. This announcement follows the National Advisory Committee on Immunization’s (NACI’s) review of the benefits of an additional booster to increase protection against severe disease which has been shown to decrease over time.

Fixed Site COVID-19 Vaccination Clinics to Wind Down in April

Point Edward, ON – Due to a significant decrease in demand, Lambton Public Health (LPH) will continue to offer COVID-19 vaccinations but will be closing down the mass community clinics in Point Edward, Forest and Wyoming at the end of March. The last scheduled mass vaccination clinics will be held on March 29 at the Point Edward Optimist Hall and March 31 at the Wyoming Fairgrounds. Wyoming, ON - At approximately 9:15 a.m. on Friday, March 4, 2022, the County of Lambton terminated its State of Emergency related to the COVID-19 pandemic and in accordance with the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act.

Point Edward, ON – Effective immediately, due to recent provincial announcements and pending changes to vaccination verification the local Letter of Instruction requiring proof of vaccination for persons entering facilities used for sport and recreational fitness activities in Lambton County is no longer in effect.
