Lambton Public Health adopts "Positive Space" policy

Point Edward, ON - Lambton Public Health has always embraced the value of equity - a commitment to reducing barriers so all people can achieve their full health potential. Today, the department will take that commitment one step further, by identifying as a "Positive Space".

Beach water sampling enhancements

Point Edward, ON ̶ Lambton County beach-goers will be able to get more accurate and timely water quality notifications thanks to a new predictive beach-water sampling system being introduced as of June 4 by Lambton Public Health (LPH).
Water at five of Lambton's public beaches will be monitored on a daily basis by LPH while two others will be sampled weekly. Beach-water testing continues until the end of August.

Point Edward, ON ̶ Lambton Public Health reminds area residents to protect themselves and their families against ticks, and Lyme disease, when outdoors.
Lyme disease is spread by the bite of infected blacklegged ticks, a tiny, slow-moving bug about the size of a sesame seed. Ticks live in wooded areas and fields and attach when a person or animal brushes against plants, bushes or tall grass. Once attached, ticks feed on blood; most people never feel the bite.

New child care spaces announced for London Bridge Child Care in Sarnia

Sarnia, ON - The County of Lambton has been approved to provide $1.49 million in provincial funding to support the addition of 49 new child care spaces at London Bridge Child Care Service's Oak Ave Early Childhood Learning Centre in Sarnia.
The funding has been announced through the Ministry of Education's Community-Based Early Years and Child Care Capital Program. The new child care spaces are expected to open in late 2020.
