New design centre added to Sarnia Library Makerspace

Wyoming, ON - Sarnia Library's Makerspace has added a Design Centre, with many new technologies and software programs, to its collection. The addition is funded through the Government of Ontario's Improving Library Digital Services Grant.
Included is a 3D Scanner; a Wacom Tablet with 3D capabilities; a photo scanner to digitize photos, slides and negatives; and audio visual equipment which includes an audio recorder and camera. A computer software package, Adobe Creative Cloud, is also available...

Forest, ON – Forest Library invites artists to submit miniature art works to the library's Art Show of Miniatures, by May 26, 2018. The theme of the art show is 'The Garden' and submitted pieces will be on display for the month of June to coincide with National Garden Week and Canada's National Garden Days. Sarnia, ON - A new, confidential, text-based reporting system introduced by Lambton Public Health will help protect people in the workplace from second-hand smoke.
"This means any workplace, including vehicles such as taxis, cars and company trucks," said Paul Buttery, Health Promoter at Lambton Public Health. "If you suspect someone has been smoking in the workplace, simply text details to 226-909-3003. It's quick, easy and anonymous. Enforcement Officers will follow up as quickly as possible."

Community Paramedic Program records 1,000 home visits

Petrolia, ON - The innovative Lambton Community Paramedic Pilot Program has completed its 1,000th home visit since the program launched in August 2017.
Preliminary results indicate the program has resulted in significant reductions to local Emergency Department (ED) visits as well as a decrease in 9-1-1 calls.
The goal of the program is to proactively provide care to patients who are high users of 9-1-1 and the Emergency Departments in their communities.
